Patricia Lynn Hines
July 08, 2019
Patricia Lynn Hines, 55, was born October 15, 1963 in Des Moines, the daughter of LeRoi and Janet (Denyes) Austin. She passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 8, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center.
Patty had a heart of gold and always shared her warmth, love and care with all those who were blessed to know her. She had a silly sense of humor and she lit up a room whenever she walked in. Patty was known for her beautiful, big smile that you could always see not just with her mouth, but more importantly with her bright, shining eyes. Her nickname was “Boo Boo” which her loving husband affectionately gave her. She will be forever loved and missed greatly.
Patty is survived by her loving husband of over 32 years, Brian Hines; her children, Jen Sawyer and Stephanie PettyJohn; grandchildren, Nathan, Kjersten, Vanessa and Michelle; siblings, Lorna (Bruce) Britson, Daniel (Suzy) Austin, Jerry Austin and Shirley (John) Schulz; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Krystian and Konnor; her son-in-law, Chris PettyJohn; and her brother, LeRoi Jr.
The family will greet friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses.

I was so lucky to have gotten the pleasure of living next door to Patty and Brian for about a year. In that short time of knowing them, Patty took my girls in as her own grandchildren and treated us as if she'd known and loved us our whole lives. I was truly blessed to call her a friend and family. Patty, my girls and I will truly miss you, as will so many others who had the pleasure of being a part of your amazing life. Brian my prayers and thoughts and deepest condolences go out to you and your whole family.

Oh my goodness I just don't know where to begin. I am really gonna miss this dear friend of mine. We knew each other from High School days, lost track of each other but just within the last few years we met up on facebook and have talked and shared stories alot since we found our friendship again. She was like a second mom to me and gave me advice and helped me thru some bad times. We had plans to go out to lunch together once Patty got home and got herself well again but as you see that will never happen. You are in a much better place my friend and I love you to the moon and back and beyond. I will miss you dearly.but you will ALWAYS be in my heart. I LOVE YOU!!!
