Larry "Bruce" Palmer

L. Bruce Palmer, 65, passed away on June 23, 2019, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines on September 22, 1953, to Benny and Joyce Palmer.

Bruce graduated from Hoover High School in 1971 and received an accounting degree from AIB School of Business. He enjoyed watching and coaching his daughters’ softball teams, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees.

Bruce was the master of dad jokes and a lover of technology. He taught his daughters the value of lifelong learning and how to find humor in the hard stuff.

Bruce is survived by daughters, Erin Palmer, Brianna Palmer, Brooke (Zach) Davis; grandson, Finn and one on the way; sister, Marilyn (Tim) Sampson; and nieces, Amber (Nick) Salmon and Stacey (Bo) Munger; a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Bruce's wishes, no formal services were held. Interment was held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, in loving memory of Bruce.
