Marguerite Rogerson, 90, died peacefully Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Plymouth United Church of Christ, 42nd St. and Ingersoll in Des Moines. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Marguerite was born April 30, 1918 to Opal and A.E. “Bert” Sargent. She graduated from East High School and attended Iowa State University where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a homemaker, or a “Household Engineer” as her husband, Bill, lovingly called her. She was proud to be a mother and a community volunteer. She was a former board member of Roadside Settlement House, the Science Center, and the Child Guidance Center. She was the past president of both the Phillips Elementary and East High School PTAs. She was a long time member and past president of B.W.A. Board and P.E.O. Chapter V. She was also past president of Questers (Ding Darling group) and American Home Club. She was very active in politics, working as a secretary for two Iowa Senators and even hosting President George H.W. and Barbara Bush in her home.
She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, reading, discussing current issues, playing tennis, snow-skiing, going to the Art Center, spending time at their Clear Lake house, and time at the YMCA Family Camp. She especially loved dancing with Bill. She will be remembered mostly for her immensely positive influence on her family and friends.
Marguerite is survived by her children: Dr. Kent (Lana) of Stockton, CA, Kenneth (Marcy) of Los Angeles, CA, Kaye (Richard) Lozier of Des Moines, and Dr. John (Cindy) of Madison, WI; her siblings: Vivian Williams, Eloise Frampton, Lucile Johnson, and Robert and Jack Sargent; her 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Willard E. “Bill” Rogerson, her parents, and her brother Warren.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2009 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway. Memorial contributions may be made to the YMCA Camp of Greater Des Moines.

Dear Rogersons , Loziers, Sargents
I was saddened upon hearing of passing away of dear Marg. I wish I could have attended the visitation and the funeral. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
I enjoyed of knowing both Marg and Bill for more 34 years. She was like mother to me and always there to seek advice. I was very fortunate to be associated with Rogersons family, all well educated and cultured, to which Marg provided very solid base.
I will always remember Marg and Bill as long as live.
Sincerely
