Rebecca Kelsey

Rebecca Louise Kelsey, age 69, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her home in Des Moines.

Rebecca was born December 5, 1949 in Chillicothe, Iowa to Edward and Clara (Shilling) Kelsey. She retired from the U. S. Postal Service after many years of service. Rebecca was a sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Iowa State Cyclones. She enjoyed traveling, crime stories, and westerns. She truly enjoyed life and never met a stranger.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle and Missy (Troy); grandchildren, Jenna (Mark), Taylor (Caleb), Delaney (Jake), Kale (Alyssa); great-grandchildren, Jaxx, Zoey, Avah, Huxley, Weslynn, and Gunner; brother, Paul Kelsey; her granddog, Col. Potter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Clara Kelsey; and her siblings, Mary, Marie, Bonnie, Edward, Keith and Lloyd.

There will be a celebration of life from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A second celebration will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Eddyville Funeral Chapel, 216 Walnut Street, Eddyville, IA from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
