Robert Luna

Robert Luna, age 59, passed away peacefully with his sons by his side on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Robert was born October 24, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a Patient Care Technician for Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Des Moines for over 15 years. His family was pride and joy. He adored his grandkids above all else - he loved going to his grandson’s baseball games and cheering him on, and doing puzzles and brushing his granddaughter’s hair. He enjoyed dancing and socializing, and was always the life of the party. One of his favorite things was playing jokes on people. He had a passion for buying new cars and he loved his dogs, Buddy, Shaft and Millie.

Robert is survived by his sons, Todd Luna (Morgan Kalwies) and Ryan Luna (Darcy); grandchildren, Cein and Kynley Luna; siblings, Tony Luna (Donna), Charles Luna (Betty), Joe Luna (Linda), Mary Luna-Rodriguez (Dago), Richard Luna, and Roman Luna (Pam); his goddaughter, Danielle Greenland-Brookes; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, John Luna; mother, Angela Luna; and his siblings, John Luna, Connie Luna, Adela Greenland, Rachel Luna and Ramon Luna.

Services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by funeral service at 2:30 p.m.
