Roger Faris

Roger Eugene Faris of Lakeview, Arkansas, formerly of Camp Dodge, Iowa died of mesothelioma cancer on February 11, 2009 at the age of 84 at the home of his daughter, Suzie.
Roger was born on May 28, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Lois Herrold in 1946. The family moved to Iowa where Roger took a position as Paint Forman at Camp Dodge and was an active part of the Camp community for 15 years. He later became an independent sign painter and artist in Lakeview, Arkansas. Roger will be remembered for years as people drive the Lakeview area and view the signs and Christmas scenes he painted.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents, Floyd and Ethel Faris; brother, Bud Faris; three sisters, Lora Wornstaff, Audra Stout and Ruth Goodnough. He is survived by his brother, Robert Faris of Dayton, OH; three children, Suzie Morgan of Runnells, IA, Sally Konnath of Austin, TX and Patrick Faris of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Tim Morgan and Mike Morgan of Runnells, IA, Kristina Konnath of Boston, MA and Michelle Konnath of Chandler, AZ; and three great-grandchildren, Mason and Lila Morgan and Paxton Morgan.
Family and friends will gather to remember Roger at Gaston’s White River Resort in Lakeview, Arkansas on February 25th.
