Ronald E. Sillanpaa

Ronnie Sillanpaa, 49, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Ronnie was born to Carol Lorraine and Matthew Wesley Sillanpaa on February 27, 1959 in Marquette, Michigan.
Ronnie graduated from Saydel High School in 1977 and had worked for Stivers Lincoln Mercury for the past six years as an auto body technician. He enjoyed gambling, car shows, spending time with his family, and Keb’s cooking. He was a member of the Machinist and Aerospace Union #254.
Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Angeala (Kendall) Barrett and Shawnae (James) Richards; mother, Carol Sillanpaa; grandchildren, Cody, Kayla and Austin Barrett, and Rayann and Abby Richards; brothers, Michael, Dale (Yvonne) and Terry Sillanpaa; and sister, Lori Gilbert Sillanpaa (Ron Scarberry), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Sillanpaa and niece, Jessica Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th, Des Moines. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
