Wylie Samuel Lee, 75, passed away on February 6, 2009. He was born on February 15, 1933 to William and Florence Lee in Hancock, Iowa. Wylie served in the U.S. Army from 1955-57. He graduated from Iowa State University and worked in the insurance industry for 18 years and then became a Realtor in 1975. He married Patricia Campfield on December 31, 1958. Wylie loved golf, home improvements, walking, exercising, camping and time with his family and friends. He was also an active volunteer, as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, the U.S. Senior Open, Allianz and Principal golf tournaments, and he served on numerous committees at Windsor United Methodist Church where he was a member for 40 years.
He will be missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia; sons, Dan (Pam) of Polk City, IA and John (Barbara) of Bonney Lake, WA; daughter, Laura (Mark) Procter of Hawthorn Woods, IL; grandchildren, Joshua and Lucas Anderson, Elizabeth and Samuel Lee, and Jonathan Lee; brother, William Lee, sister, Marjorie (Bill) Robinson; sisters-in-law, Mary and Joan Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Robert and Donald Lee.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 8, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. The funeral will be on Monday, February 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Windsor United Methodist Church, 6222 University Avenue, Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
