Carmella Chiaramonte

Carmella Lucille Chiaramonte, 96, passed away on February 4, 2009. Carmella was born on February 18, 1912. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and the Open Bible Institute. On September 29, 1934 she married Anthony Chiaramonte and they had almost 40 wonderful years together. Carmella loved the Lord with her whole heart, and in the early years of her Christian walk, taught Sunday school to children. She was also faithful to make calls on the sick in the hospital with her husband. The church played a vital role in her life and she believed prayer changed all things.
Carmella was very involved with her family and leaves behind three children; sons, Phillip (Mary) of Waukee, Jerry (Renee) of Urbandale; daughter Jo Ann (Larry) Molenburg of Urbandale; six grandchildren, Kathy (Doug) Labertew of Louisville, KY, Kristy (John) Carlile of Flower Mound, TX, Julie Molenburg of Waukee, IA, Jennifer (Ryan) Ruisch of Grimes, IA, Tony (Katie) Chiaramonte of Des Moines and Christopher Chiaramonte of Urbandale; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Concetta Ashburn of Hawaii and Elizabeth Richter of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony and her parents Anthony and Josephine Spagnolo.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. The visitation will be on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and the memorial service on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
