Helen Amadeo

Helen Bernice Amadeo, 86, died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2007 at Our Ladies of America Catholic Church St. Peter’s Chapel, E. 18th & Des Moines St. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2007 with a scripture service at 5:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Private family burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Helen worked in the Des Moines Public School System for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling with family and playing cards with friends. She was a communicant at Our Ladies of America Catholic Church St. Peter’s Chapel.
Helen is survived by her children, Leonard Amadeo and his wife Diana of Merrimack, NH and Lynn Amadeo-Cote and her husband Lamont of Glendale, AZ; four grandchildren, Nathan, Angelique, Anthony and Desiree; two great grandchildren; sister, Lois Celsi and her husband Charlie of Des Moines; brother, Raymond Potter and his wife Barbara of Des Moines; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dominic Amadeo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or donor’s choice.
