Ella Phillips

Ella M. Phillips, 98, of Des Moines passed away on February 2, 2009 at the Fleur Heights Care Center. Her family will greet friends from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Ella was born to Julius and Anna Skow in Kolding, Denmark, immigrated to the United States at the age of one and was raised in Emmetsburg. She is survived by her daughter Barbara J. Peterson of Des Moines, her two grandsons Warren (Jill) Peterson of Ackworth and Mark (Deb) Peterson of Mystic, her granddaughter Dana Chandler of Boone as well as six great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Emery Nefstead and W.R. (Bob) Phillips. Ella’s family would like to thank Fleur Heights Care Center and Hospice of Central Iowa for their wonderful care and compassion. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fleur Heights Care Center, Hospice of Central Iowa or the Des Moines Public Library South.
