Marjorie Frances Caudill, 85, was born April 30, 1923 in Rippey, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse and Rosa Marie (Feith) Ervine. She passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack at her home Thursday evening, January 29, 2009.
Marjorie retired from Meredith Printing and Publishing (Donnelly) after 26 years of service. During World War II, she worked in a military plane factory. Marjorie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also a proud colon cancer survivor.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Greg (Pat) Caudill of Des Moines, Sue Green of Urbandale, Mark (Kathy) Caudill of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cindy (Bob) Nelson of Des Moines, Tom Caudill of Des Moines and Sheryl (Todd) Fuson of Indianola; grandchildren, Angela Beeler, Shelly (Bryan) Green-Burnett, Lisa Green, Sarah and Katie Caudill, and Coleton and Alex Fuson; two great-grandchildren, Ian Stemler and Madeleine Schieffer; sister, Jennie Ervine of Polk City, many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, William “Bill” Caudill, who passed away in January 2006; her parents, and her siblings, twin sister Marie Flinn, Geneva Sherlock, Isabel Wickham, and Mahala, Bud, Carl, Virginia and Jessie Ervine.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St. with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 at the funeral home.
