Service Details
Verna Christian, 82, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Fountain West Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Berwick Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Verna was born February 16, 1926 in Osceola, IA to Vernie and Roxie Proctor. She was married to William Christian. Verna was a member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Church of God.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Mary Aschan; four sisters; two brothers; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Darrell Proctor and an infant daughter.

I am sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a sweet woman whom I knew from her time at Fountain West. She was ready to leave this world and I am sure she is in heaven where she so longed to be. The evening she died I spent some time talking with her and as she often did she held my hand and said a prayer. I'm sure that prayer was heard.
