Tony Rushing

Michael “Tony” Rushing, 50, was born on December 6, 1968 to Michael and Christie (Prine) Rushing in Des Moines, Iowa.

On June 9, 2019, Tony died doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle. He worked for Tones Spices for 27 years and was a proud member of Local 238 Teamsters. Aside from being a motor head, Tony loved his family dearly. There were many family gatherings, BBQ’s, and quality time with his grandchildren.

He will forever be cherished by his wife, Tonya Manuel; sons, Dustin (Ashlyn) Rushing and Cole Rushing; mother, Christie Rushing; mother of his children, Randi Parker; grandchildren, Cadence Derringer, Vaida and Vash Rushing; grandparents, Hazel (Loren Schurman) Jones; sister, Tessa Abbott; brother, Christopher (Shawn) Rushing; nieces, Sawyer and Sydney Rushing; nephews, Dylan, Cody, and Cory Wilkinson; great niece, Bella Wilkinson; stepsons, Alex, Terry, Markey, and Tre Wiles; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members and countless friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Michael Rushing; grandparents, Gaylord Jones, Donald Prine, Violet and Cornelius Rushing; brother in law, Derek Abbott; and aunt, Kathleen Stith.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m.
