Eric Murphy

Eric Murphy, 52, passed away June 6, 2019 at Unity Point Des Moines Methodist Hospital.

Eric was born January 5, 1967 to Eric Sr. and Mary (Shaw) Murphy.

He most recently worked for Drake University doing HVAC.
Eric was a past member of the Indianola Fire Department Honor Guard and former volunteer Fire Fighter.
He was a real sports fan and a true Raiders and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Eric was a true animal lover and his pets were an important part of his family.
He was a devoted family man who was the most loving husband and father.

Eric is survived by his loving wife, Mickie; daughter, Haley; mother, Mary Murphy; siblings, Holly Brunk, Derek (Tina), and Kevin (Melissa); mother-in-law, Dolores Teas; brother-in-law, Mike (Jan)Teas; nephews, nieces, and a host of extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eric, Sr. and his brother, Brian; and father-in-law, Pete Teas.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to invite everyone for refreshments following the service at Trinity Baptist Church, 4600 SW 26th Street, Des Moines, IA 50321
