Hazel Ann Link, 63, of Carlisle passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2009 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Hazel was an avid reader and enjoyed classic country music and spending time with her family whom she loved very much. She is survived by her two sons Larry (Chris) of Carlisle and Billy (Pam) of Des Moines; her mother Bess Friis; her siblings Joe (Susann) Leist, Faith (Woody) Woodson and Sonny (Kay) Friis; her grandchildren Shawna, Jimmie III, Nicole, Rachel, Stephanie, Jaime and Cassie; her great grandchildren DéShawn, Pudge and Montrell as well as her loving dog Zorro. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Link and her father Eugene Friis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Returning Heroes Home.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Hazel was a very special person! She always had everyone's best interest at heart. I had the privilege of working with her at Wells Fargo these past 4 years and I consider myself to be lucky to have had her as a friend and co-worker. She always looked out for me. I'll never forget how much she has done for me. She will be missed greatly.

Dear Family,
How I wish I could be there this weekend to share in our loss. As I was thinking back, I was reminded of how excited I was that Aunt Hazel went out of her way to come to Cedar Rapids for my baby shower. She was so generous and unselfish, and she will be greatly missed. I wish Anna could have met her, but I will pass on the fond memories I have of her, and share with my daughter what a wonderful woman her great aunt was.
I love you all and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May the peace that passes understanding be with you tommorrow.

I am a coworker with Hazel and I am honored to say that I knew her. She is a wonderful peron with a good sense of humor. I enjoyed seeing her happy smile and listening to all of her interesting stories in the early morning. She always so happy to cook for the team and she made wonderful bread. She will definately be missed by all here at Wells Fargo.

Words can't begin to express what a wonderful person Hazel was and the joy that she brought the all of us at Wells Fargo. I've had the opportunity to know Hazel as if she were a family member.I can't remember a time that I passed Hazel that she did not say " Hey girl, how are you doing." when food days you could count on Hazel wanting to make at least two items. And when we moved to the new building she wasn't going to let a rotating door get between her crock pot and food day. I remember one year Hazel taught a young fellow team member to sew. She brought her sewing kit from home to work and pulled it out and break time. By the end of the day the team member could sew on a button. I can asure you that Hazel brought something to all our lives if it wasn't food, kind words a bit of advise or just a good story. My heart and my condolences go out to you in your loss. She was a great women and she will be missed but never forgoten.

Dearest family of Hazel Ann,
I'm so sorry to hear about our loss of Hazel Ann. She was always one who could bring a smile to my face and will be missed. I was glad I got to see her last year up in Kentucky when everyone gathered after Uncle Joe's funeral.
May the Lord bless you and keep you all and may he give you peace. May he give you the peace that passes all understanding.

Dear Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Sis. Even though we live miles apart - family stays close in heart. I will be forever grateful to Hazel Ann for all the help she was to my father while she was living in Kentucky. I am sorry about the loss of your loved one. Hazel was a WONDERFUL person. I had the privlege of working with her at Wells Fargo as she was on my team for quite some time. I remember when we used to work a lot of overtime and my 2 children would come in on the weekends. Hazel would always ask me if they were coming with and when I would say yes, she would bring in a tv, movies, etc for my children. They really liked her and they still remember her as well.
She was no longer on my team at work, but I would see her every morning on my way into the office and she was cheerful as ever. I would give her a hard time about going outside to smoke a cigarette even when it was below zero. She would just laugh at me and tell me it was good to see me and have a great day!
She will be sorely missed by myself and my daughters. Also by her family here at Wells Fargo!

I was Hazel's supervisor for awhile here at Wells Fargo and she truly was a joy to have around. She always brought a smile to the teams face which made the days a little brighter. She will truly be missed. I extend my thoughts and prayers to your family during this time of healing. God Bless.
