Donna Marie Burt Munyon

Donna Marie Burt, 84, passed away June 5, 2019. She was born in Rankin, IL on July 4, 1934, the fourth child and first daughter of Ellis Fred Burt and Grace Fern Gladding. Her birthday was always a celebration and it was many years before her children realized the fireworks were not exclusively for her.
Donna’s first job was delivering newspapers in Milford IL, the first ever girl to do so. She lived briefly in Chicago where she excelled in typing and playing the clarinet and graduated from high school in Princeton, MO.
After graduation she took a typing position with Meredith Publishing Corporation in Des Moines, IA. It was there she caught the eye of a handsome fellow working across the street. After a short courtship she married Dale Leslie Munyon on September 14, 1952. Many future anniversaries were celebrated in their favorite place, Estes Park, Colorado. They were married nearly 60 years before Dale passed in 2011.
Donna and Dale were blessed with four children. Stephen who was received in heaven shortly after birth, Debra Marie, Deanna Jean and Denise Lynn.
The Munyon household was full of joy and laughter. Donna enjoyed Camp Fire Girls, traveling, camping and collecting dolls. Her happiest memories were times spent with her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her cat Sissy Ann.
Donna is survived by daughters, Debra Gauldin (Mark), Deanna May (Richard), Denise Hall (Tim); sister, Jeri Burt Garner Berghoff (Dick); sister-in-law, Pauline Burt; grandchildren, Amy Gilliam (Bobby), Kathleen Johnson (Billy), Christopher Gauldin (Nicole) Carrie DuBay (Luc) and Emily Ballew (Ryan); great grandchildren, Daniel and Leslie Gilliam, Collin, Tyler and Nolan Johnson, Reid and Vivienne Gauldin; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death her husband, Dale Munyon; infant son, Stephen Lee; father, Ellis Fred Burt; mother, Grace Gladding Burt Sibbitt, (Arthur); brothers, Robert Burt (Ursula), John Burt (Betty) (Mildred) Samuel Burt; and brother-in-law, James Garner.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10th at the funeral home. Donna will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Dear Deb and all the family, We were so sorry to hear of Donna's passing. I know the last year has been difficult at times for her so it's hard but is a blessing too. She was such a fun and happy lady. She left so many wonderful memories to comfort you. Love and prayers,

Hi Deb, What a beautiful woman and mother. I can tell she will be hugely missed. I hope she was able to sidestep the pain & other discomforts that so many suffer as the years pile on. But yikes - 84 is now not that old! Nor that far off! All our best wishes (Bill & I both lost our moms last year), the Burlisons
