Roy Edward Cashatt Jr., 69, of Des Moines passed away on January 27, 2009 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral home with burial following at the University Park Cemetery near Oskaloosa. The family will greet friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Roy was employed by the Des Moines Register for 20 years, was involved with the Boy Scouts and was a huge NASCAR fan. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Patricia, his daughter Robin (Forrest) Parsons, his son Michael (Kerrie) Cashatt, his four grandchildren Forrest (Rachelle) Parsons Jr., Zachary Parsons, and Conner and Cameron Cashatt all of Des Moines.
