Mary Ruth Tonsi

Mary R. Tonsi, 74, passed away January 26, 2009 at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Mary was born March 13, 1934 in Des Moines. She worked at Mercy Hospital as an X-Ray technician for over 35 years.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jim; sons, Charles (Laurie) Tonsi and Jim (Patty) Tonsi; brothers, Dwayne, Charles and Robert Whitfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Whitfield; and sister, Judy.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Mary.
