Karen Haver

Karen Rae Haver, 82, passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center on May 22, 2019.

Karen was born in Fort Dodge, IA on May 23, 1937 to Don and Dorothy McGowan. She graduated from Renwick High School and attended the College of St. Thomas and the University of Iowa. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and received a bachelor’s degree from Drake University. She enjoyed teaching and tutoring in Des Moines and Minnesota. She was currently residing in Johnston. Karen loved to travel, volunteer and play bridge. She was active in the American Baptist Women’s Ministry and loved to sing with them.

Karen is survived by her sister, Kay Jacobsen; children, Steve (Karen) Haver and Suzie (John) Lye; grandchildren, Jeremy, Kelsey, Carter and Anna; nephew, Rick Jacobsen; and niece, Renee Williams.
