Sharon M. Thomas

Sharon M. Thomas, also known as “Grameo/Moe”, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the age of 77.

She was born September 4, 1941 to John and Wilma Anderson. She married her high school sweetheart, Keith Thomas, on March 11, 1961.

Sharon enjoyed gardening, flowers, and animals. She liked spending time outdoors camping and boating. She loved cook outs and will be lovingly remembered for her famous rigatoni. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Dee Dee), Ronnie, and Kathy; grandchildren, Ryan, Randy, Kyle, Cory, Jake, Kris, Nick, Kayla, and Devin; 18 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Diesel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wilma; brother, John; husband, Keith; and son-in-law, Denny.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Berwick Cemetery after the services.

A co-celebration of life will be held for Sharon and Denny Shelburg at 4 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 4060 NE 46th St., Des Moines, IA 50317.
