The beautiful light of Ruth Colby Wellfort, 27, was extinguished on May 10, 2019. Colby glowed from within and though her song has ended her melody lingers on. This beautiful soul was truly loved by her family, her son, and her friends.

Colby was born on December 11, 1991 in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated from Millard North High School Class of 2009 in Omaha, NE. Colby loved being a part of the competitive cheerleading world and valued the many life-long friends that she made. She participated in cheerleading competitions around the country from age 5 to 17 and was a National Champion Cheerleader. Colby Carter was an accomplished model and loved the profession. She had an uncanny knowledge of music and movies. Colby was truly a people person with the ability to make everyone feel they were a part of her life and important to her. She brought light and joy to every room she walked into. Colby was a loving wife and a devoted mother.

She leaves behind her husband, Joe Citro, III; her son, Kingston (she will forever be his Mommy and he will forever be her King); her step-son, Colton Citro; her parents, Ruth and William Wellfort; brothers, Charles and Briggs Wellfort; step-brother, Ryan Wellfort; and countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. Family will greet friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service and following.
