Michael Williams, 55, of Des Moines passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center.
Michael was born December 31, 1953 in Des Moines and lived there all his life. He worked for Weitz Construction as a truck driver. Michael enjoyed watching tv, riding his motorcycle, yard work, target practice and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his wife of 34 years, Georgeann; his children, Mikie (Jessica), Jason (Jessica), Bryan (Megan), Katie (Anthony) Hansen, Jenna and Jacob Williams; his grandchildren, Blake, Mason, Chloe, and McKayla; his brothers, James “Tom” and Billy Williams; his sisters, Cindy Clark, Linda, Pam Maxwell and Patty Payne along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Doris Williams, his sister, Mary Sue and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street; burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Michael.

i am sorry for the loss of my brother and your loving dad and husband iam sure he willl be missed dearly iam sorry i could not be there for the furnural due to un controled circumstances my thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of my family members and to georgeann i will miss my brother dearly and although i could not be there my thoughts and prayers were there although we did not get to be together much did not mean i did not care i think of u guys alot and wish i could call or contact u more any way my thoughts are with u and please remember that here is a poem from me to you sometimes life isnt fair and we dont ask why we just go on doing things and moving on we share our feelings with many friends and family and hope some day they will under stand just what life is all about its not just every day problems or having family and friends to turn to when life throws u a curve but remember there is always some one to turn to when things like this happen so remember u have family and friends to carry on with and michael in your heart where he will always be making your days brighter and your nites glow with a smile or two and some one that will always be there to help u make it threw days and nites love linda collines mike*S sister i love u all
