Marie Lynn Fisher

Mrs. Marie Lynn Fisher, age 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by her loving family.

Marie Lynn Lee was born to Robert Jackson Lee and Ann Louise Smith on April 13, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio. The family moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1959 after her mother married Allen W. Downey. Lynn, as she was known by family, graduated from East High School in 1966. Marie Lynn retired from Drake University after 35 years. She met and married John A. Fisher in 1971 and out of that union came their son, Anthony E. Fisher. Marie’s hobbies were Black Jack and Bingo. She dedicated all her life to Isiserettes Drill Team.

Marie Lynn Fisher is survived by loving husband John A. Fisher, her children: Stephanie (Kevin) Jones, Anthony (Jerriane) Fisher, her step-children: Julie Jackson (Hatlas), Wanda (Mike) Carter, John Jr. Fisher, Terry Fisher, Clifford Fisher and Deanna Richardson, her grandchildren: Kaylianna, Marguerita and Mesha Fisher, Zemira Fisher, Raynece Lee, and Noah Jones, great greatgrandchildren: Kamil Lee and Israel Fisher. She is also survived by her father Allen (Ruth) Downey, Sr. and her siblings: Roberta Robinson, Robert (Lorreta) Lee, Cheri Downey, and Allen Downey. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Jackson Lee and Ann Downey and her grandparents Jay and Myrtle Smith.
