Roger Covault

Roger Covault, 89, passed away May 2, 2019 at the Altoona Nursing and Rehab Center.
Roger was born November 8, 1929 in Guthrie Center, Iowa to Owen and Orpha Covault. He retired from the State of Iowa where he had been an auditor for 43 years. Roger was an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan and a John Deere fan, as he grew up on a farm. He enjoyed Suduko and crossword puzzles. You rarely saw him without a cup of coffee in his hand. Roger was always in a good mood, positive, giving, loving, kind-hearted and he was a peacemaker.
He is survived by his son, Scott Covault; step-daughter, Christy Blevins; daughter-in-law, Debra Covault; grandchildren, Arielle (Andy) Meadows-Miesner, Constance (Chris) Pickard, Christopher Covault and Collin (Kelsey Lewellen) Covault; great-grandchildren, Lily, Royal, Chloe and Cooper; sisters, Cheryl (Rawland) Wright and Carole (Ron) Cordry; as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; daughter, Lisa Meadows; step-son, Steve Blevins; and his brother, Dennis Covault.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 from 1 pm to 2 pm with the funeral service at 2 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

I am deeply sorry for your family's loss. I worked with Roger at the Iowa Dept of Revenue. He was such a nice man. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
