Carolyn Ann Smith

On Wednesday May 1st 2019 at 4:30PM, the soft sunlight of dusk peered through the big window of the room as our beloved, Carolyn Ann Smith, smoothly and peacefully slipped into eternity. As her family sat with her, without a moment’s notice, she quickly transitioned into God’s hands from a life of trials, tribulations, victories and triumphs. Our dearly beloved Carolyn, a McDonald family descendant was 79 years young.
Carolyn, affectionately known as “Mother Carolyn Smith,” was born on January 11, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Mr. Arthur Taylor and to Ms. Dorothy Mae McDonald. Carolyn was an only child.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Marie Ary of Minneapolis, Minnesota; son, Sir Walter Jr. of Ankeny, IA.; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, cousins, and close friends.
Services for Ms. Carolyn Ann Ary Smith will be on Tuesday May 7th, 2019 at 11:00 am. at Corinthian Baptist Church, 814 School St. Des Moines, Iowa, 50309.
