Stephanie Nicole Rix
April 26, 2019
Stephanie Nicole Rix, 29, passed away tragically from an automobile accident in Culpeper, VA on April 26, 2019. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm with a prayer service at 4:30 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 am at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 3900 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines.
Stephanie was born on August 8, 1989 to Joni and Scott Rix in Rock Island, IL. She graduated from Waukee High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University. In her junior year she was awarded an internship to Whiteman Airforce Base in Johnson County, MO in the Business Department. After graduation she went to work for the Commerce Department for NOAA in Kansas City, MO. Her final assignment was working for Contracting Services for the Federal Government in Washington, D.C.
Stephanie was a very unique individual. She recently learned to crochet and enjoyed making blankets. She also loved to cook, bake, paint, draw and socialize with her many friends. At her Memorial service held in Washington, D.C., friends and colleagues gathered to share memories of their time with Stephanie. “Brave”, “Courageous”, “Such a sweet smile” and “She made everyone feel like someone” were just a few comments made about her. These are attributes about her that we ourselves know so well and will always remember and hold dear.
She is survived by her parents, Scott (Tammy) Rix; Joni Rix (Dave Heffernan); brother, Adam Rix; her beloved dog, Koda; grandparents, Larry and Dorothy Rix and Larry and Mary Jane Loew; aunts and uncles, Todd (Terri) Rix, Kris (Steve) Feld, Tom (Joan) Loew, and Dave Loew; cousins; extended family; and many, many friends.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family where a charity will be determined at a later time. Online condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

With sympathy; A word of comfort in your time of sadness, "He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord will wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8)
John 5:28,29, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out....to a resurrection of life." I hope these verses help ease your pain.

Steph,
I found a recent picture of you and Brittany when you came to Wisconsin for one of your birthdays. In the picture is you and Brittany getting youre makeup/hair done along with a name tag called Half-Pint. See, you may have been called half-pint, but to me you were always so much more than that because to me you were larger than life & one of bravest woman that I know. I wasnt always the easiest little girl to have as a cousin, but you were always there and looked after me because you loved me and wanted to make sure I knew how to take care of myself. I love you Steph & Ill miss you very much!
