Richard Wright

Richard “Dick” Wright Sr., age 58, passed away at home after a 20 month battle with brain cancer.
Richard was born to William Ray Wright and Lucile (Showers) Wright in Albia, Iowa on Feb. 6, 1950.
He spent most of his life in Des Moines and Indianola and worked all his life in the automotive area. He was employed by Midas Auto Systems at the time of his death. Richard loved working on and driving his two streetrods and just enjoyed being at home with family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years, Debra; one son Richard (Lori) Wright Jr. of Des Moines,; one stepson Brandon (Izabel) Roa of Delaware; three daughters Tia Wright, Amee (Steve) Stoermer, Kim (Mike) Turner, all of Des Moines; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother Gary (Bev) Wright; one sister-in-law Susie Wright and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a nephew.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St., Des Moines, Iowa. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with cremation afterwards.
