Dolores "Lola" Medina

Dolores “Lola” Medina, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was called home to Heaven on Monday, April 22, 2019. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Medina; children, Rick (Cathy) Medina, Ramona Medina, Tony (Erin) Medina, Gregory (Angel) Medina; grandchildren, Dylan Medina, Nathan Sears, Zac Sears, Sariah (Shane) Steed, Emily (Donovan) Medina-Leigh, Lucas Bramble, Nick Medina, and Olivia Medina; siblings, Tom (Pat) Negrete, Jeanette Negrete, and Joe (Lori) Negrete; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Lola was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 14, 1945, to Joe and Eulalia (Beulah) Negrete. She graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1963. She married Richard Medina on August 29, 1964, and they shared 54 wonderful years together. Lola waitressed at many local restaurants while raising her family and later retired from Meredith Corporation. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, shopping, and spending time with her family. She loved to dance. Lola was a selfless caregiver who was very generous and loving. Her family was the most important thing in her life.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with memory sharing time starting at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, baby Tony Medina, Alexandria Sears, and Addam Medina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Lola.

Thoughts and Prayers goes out to you Dooley and Family. Thinking of You, Comp and I joining The Knights together in mid 1960s. Our Families have stayed close thru out the years. Lola will be missed.
