William “Red” Malloy, 83, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Boone County Hospital.
Bill was born November 8, 1925 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Perry and Laura (Snook) Malloy. He was an Army Veteran, proudly serving his country in World War II, and was a member of Local 167 Iron Workers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Malloy; four sons, Joe (Ruth) Malloy, John (Linda) Malloy, Dan (Julie) Malloy and David (Beth) Malloy; two step-children, Mike (Denise) and Mickey (Mike); 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou (Eakins) Malloy.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2009 at Meredith Drive Reformed Church, 5128 Meredith Drive in Des Moines, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church Youth Group, 111 6th St., Boone, Iowa 50036. Hamilton’s Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
