Service Details
Donna passed away at home on January 23, with family members at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at Hamilton’s Altoona on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour before.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Richard; daughters, Terri (Rich) Richardson, Debbie (David) Johnson, and Kathy (David) Slaughter; son Michael T. Sheehey; 5 gandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Bette (Glen) Christensen, and Regina York.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Our hearts and prayers are with your entire family, and especially with our very dear friends, Debbie & David. We know, first hand, how difficult it is for a loved one to pass - and especially from a fight with cancer. Please know of our continued prayers for each of you, for a deep assurance of Donna's peace and rest, for a sense of comfort for Richard and for all the children, grandchildren, family, and loved ones.

Our love and thoughts are with you, Debbie, and your family. There are
no words that will take away the sorrow and pain your family is feeling,
but know that she is with our Lord and he is taking care of her. He has
taken the pain away and now she can rest.

Dearest Debbie, So sorry of your loss, its only temporary, and we will be together again forever. I pray for your family,I know your hearts are hurting. I pray for healing, and blessing for all of you.
I know she has a place, that God has resevered for her, as his angel. Debbie you are part of our hearts, and david. Both of you have been by our sides, when we were hurting, and for joyful occasion. So your Mom has left part of her here,that is why you are a beautiful person. God Bless you and your family, I wish I could be with right now, but our spirit is there. We love you...... The only words that can comfort right now are in the promise of Christ's words when He told us in John 14 that He has prepared a place for Donna and she is with Him now in all His glory for all eternity!
My sister was an amazing woman who demonstrated her love for God, her husband and her family and friends. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. I will miss her strength and grace.

Her Journey Has Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away-
Her journey's just begun,
Life holds so many facets-
This earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting,
From the sorrows and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days or years.
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing lived is ever lost,
And she was loved so much.
So, you can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
Or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can remember her and only that she is gone,
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

My aunt was the kind of person we all enjoyed being around when we were children. She was kind and gentle with a loving smile and wonderful laugh. My heartfelt condlolences to Uncle Dick, Teri, Debbie, Kathy and Mike. I know these past months have been very difficult for you and I hope you find comfort in knowing there's a beautiful Guardian Angel watching over you. You are all in my thoughts.
