Cecil Franklin

Cecil Franklin, 93, died Monday, January, 19, 2009 at the Des Moines Veterans Hospital. Cecil was born on May 23, 1915 in Knoxville, Iowa.
Cecil served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge.
Cecil loved to watch football and westerns with his children and grandchildren, and was an avid Hawkeye fan.
Cecil is survived by his sons, Raymond Franklin and Kevin (Charlene) Franklin; daughter, Wanda (Phil) Tinsley; grandchildren, James, Steven, Stacy, Brad, Emily, Erin and Amy; and six great-grandchildren. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 at Debra Heights Wesleyan Church, 4025 Lower Beaver Road, with burial to follow at Powers Warren Cemetery. A visitation with family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the church in loving memory of Cecil.
