Debra Moon

Debra Moon, 49, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 11 to 12 a.m., with a Memorial Service at 12p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home 5400 S.W. 9th.
Debe was born at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA, January 26, 1959 to Ralph and Phyllis Kissel. Debe graduated in 1977 from Lincoln High School. She attended college at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. Debe worked at Northwester Bell telephone Co. for 10 years before becoming a stay at home wife and mother.
Those left to honor Debe’s memory her husband, Richard Moon; her two children, Marshall and Molly Kate Moon of Des Moines; her mother, Phyllis Kissel of Des Moines; three brothers, David (Chrys) Judd of Milo, Douglas Judd of Des Moines, Dirk (Lori) Kissel of West Des Moines; nieces, Lacy (Adam) Andre of Norwalk, Kirsti, Kendra, Kara Kissel of West Des Moines, Hannah Judd of Milo; and nephew, Luke Judd of Norwalk.
She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Kissel; grandparents, John and Beulah Kissel, Robert and Ruby Reynolds, and Charlie Flynn.
Debe had a gift of unconditional love and compassion for others. She openly shared with loved ones and friends, and she was a very caring and giving person. Debe enjoyed and loved family, friends, babies, shopping, traveling, animals and angels. Debe will be deeply missed by all that knew her and loved her.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her Home Health Care nurses, and her nurses in the I.C.U at Mercy Medical Center.
