Mary Cole

Mary H. Cole, 76, passed away on January 9, 2009 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines Iowa.
Mary was born August 29, 1932 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Brady) Goodman. She graduated from McCallsburg High School and then went on to receive her nursing degree from Mercy Nursing College. She worked as a RN. She retired from ChildServ in Johnston, IA.
Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was also instrumental in her husband’s business, Tinker Tooling, handling all of the accounting.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother John Goodman.
Mary is survived by her husband Bill; children Paul Cole, Alan (Audrey) Cole, Lori Farrell, Kathy Cole, Chris (Jon) Scott, David Cole and Nancy (Jay) Shipley; grandchildren Lewie, Cole and Mia Farrell, Nicholas Good, Zach and Aaron Scott, and Katie Shipley: sister Gayle (Joseph) Scolaro; brothers Richard (Roberta) Goodman and David Goodman.
Visitation will be held, Monday, January 12, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home 5400 SW 9th in Des Moines. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mary at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial Contribution may be made to the Bright Kavanagh House.
