Michael Edward Brooks-McGillan, known by all as “Mac”, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at his home in Des Moines at the age of 65.
Mac was born June 10, 1953 in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Cecil and Betty (Dorman) McGillan. He was a veteran of the United States Army, spending time stationed in Germany. Mac retired as a glazer, having worked on glass in buildings in Des Moines and around the state of Iowa. He was a talented woodworker and loved animals, especially his cat and dog. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together again. He was an explorer by nature. He was adventurous and very social; he was always friends with everyone. He would brighten up any room he entered. Mac will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife T.J., son Bjorn McGillan, friend (Val Boots), brothers Patrick McGillan and Colin McGillan of Queen City, MO and lots of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no formal services held. Interment is scheduled for 11 AM on 27 April at Jimtown Cemetery, MO. An Army color guard along with Schuyler County American Legion Post 784 to assist with military honors.

Mac was Truly "one of a kind" worked with him, some years, at a couple of Glass Co.s. He was always business during "work hours", they sometimes seamed to change, @ different job sites, I am glad I knew him. RIP my friend. My Condolences to his family

My deepest condolences for the family. During this time it's hard to rely on God but just take a look at this invitation he makes to us. 1 Peter 5: 7 states: ''while you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.'' By throwing all our anxieties on him is the only way to find true comfort. Our creator cares deeply about us. I hope these Bible verse helps you to find true comfort.

Its true to know Mac was to love him. As a neighbor to Mac and TJ was great he was ALWAYS so kind with our grandchildren, Rest In Peace Mac. Blessing to the family.
