Wayne S. "Duke" Major

Duke Major, 52, passed away April 8, 2019. He was born in Des Moines on August 5, 1966, and graduated from Saydel High School.
Duke worked at Bob’s Septic for 17 years and was currently working at King of Thrones. Duke was a member of the American Legion Riders and Sons of the American Legion.
Duke had a big heart and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on cars.
Duke is survived by his wife of 16 years, Connie; daughter, Audrey Major; siblings, Melody, Dick Jr., Terri, Mike, Alan, William, and Deb; mother-in-law, Pat Baker; father, Richard Major Sr., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma and his beloved dog, Bobo.
A Celebration of Duke’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the home of Joe and Penny Shepherd, his nephew, 8324 NE 46th Avenue, Altoona, Iowa.

I worked with Duke for many years. I got to know him and his family outside of work. I am deeply shocked and saddened. He was always a family man and a fair guy. I am deeply sorry for his wife connie and his daughter. They were his life. I am deeply sorry and here however I can help!! Duke you will never be forgotten boss!! Gone too soon. What a tragic loss we are are
all feeling, you know that you will forever be my favorite son in law you always helped me whenever needed. There was no doubt of your love for Connie, and for Audrey, Family & friends you always had such a big heart, You would be proud to know that family and friends have been here to help make sure things are cared for. He had helped Fred and I, so much with our building things at our home. He was a great wonderful friend and person all around. We love you Duke. RIP!
