Jauwan Gregory

Jauwan Lyddia Gregory, 74, died Monday, January 8, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Jauwan was born September 16, 1932 to Lyle and Ruth Squires in Waucoma, Iowa. She moved to Des Moines in 1940 and worked at Dee Zee Manufacturing and Mercy Hospital in the cafeteria for many years. She is survived by her children, Rickie (Cyrilla) and Steve (Joyce) Gregory of Des Moines, Albert (Pam) Gregory Jr. of Eagle River, AK, Debbie (Tracy) Bethards and Dorothy Dillon of Des Moines, and LaDonna (Steve) Fisher of Omaha; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford (Sharon) Squires of Trenton, MO and Frank (Joyce) Squires of Des Moines; sisters, Lillian Sjuillie, Delores Shephard, and Jean Archer, all of Des Moines, Sandy Carter of Columbia, MO, and Margaret Rousseau of Trenton, MO; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Earl Gregory; children, David and Pam Gregory; two brothers; and three sisters. Memorial contributions may be given to Iowa Health Hospice.
