Ben was a very special man who was part of a Pulmonary Rehab group at Mercy Medical Center. He always was so kind to the others in his group and loved to share his golf stories. We will miss him in our group.

All of our class remember Ben the same way - friendly to all and admired by all. Our memories go back to Elementary School with Benny and he was a bit larger, stronger, and more athletic than the rest of us boys, Yet, he was a good youth, kind in every way and that is what he became as a man. We all loved Ben and he will be in our memories forever. Yes, the smile was his signature.

For ladies one says ," Pretty inside and out." For Ben, I say *Handsome inside and out." I will remember him as one of the best looking guys in our class, but also one of the kindest and most helpful. The class of 1965 grieves along with the family. I will remember him as in this picture ....always smiling.

Ben was a life long friend, classmate and football teammate. He and I both played the position of end for Mayfield. I remember vividly one play against Tilghman that he and I were both involved in. It was our senior year and our last game of the season against our arch rival from Paducah. Bud Qualk, the quarterback called a pass play to me in the corner of the end zone. Bud threw it and I caught it for a touchdown, however, Mike McClure was offsides on the play and it was called back. On the very next play, we faked a field goal and Tony Thorpe threw a dying quail wobbly pass to Bennie, as we called him In those days, Bennie caught it and got my touchdown back. I loved him more from that day forward.
I will miss you Ben and hope to talk about those plays again one day on that gridiron in heaven.

Ben was a good friend and I enjoyed playing golf and reminiscing with him when he came back to Mayfield in the summer. He and Maggie came over when they were here years ago and ate steaks with some other friends and classmates. Loved the guy wish we could have spent more time together in our later years.
