Sharon Myers, 81, passed away April 3, 2019 at Unity Point Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Sharon was born January 25, 1938 in Des Moines. She was the first born child of Ralph and Neva Lewis. Growing up, she was a member of Highland Park Christian Church. Sharon was the typical older sister, always taking care of her younger siblings and including them in activities. She was given the nickname “Sneaky” by her younger sister Carol. She graduated from North High School in 1956. Following high school, Sharon worked at Iowa Power and Light. She then went to work for an accounting firm in West Des Moines, from which she later retired. In 1956, she met Ronald Myers. They were married in 1957, and had three daughters. Ronald passed away in 2008.

Sharon was passionate about sewing, reading, gardening, history and loved big band music. She will be remembered for her very generous heart and as a caregiver. Sharon was always taking care of everyone, no matter the situation. She enjoyed volunteering at Living History Farms, which later turned into a job. Sharon also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Jami (Joe) Jones and Kimberly (Wayne) Johann, both of Ankeny and Traci Udstrand of Waterloo; sister, Carol (Duane) Moore of Arizona; brothers, William (Nancy) Lewis of Des Moines and Kevin (Lori) Lewis of Grimes; grandchildren, Tiphini, Amanda, Tyler, Ashley and Zach; five great-grandchildren with a sixth on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronald Myers.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
