Mary Mettler

Mildred Leontine Mettler, 80, of Lake Como, Florida, passed away Jan. 5, 2009 at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa and lived there all of her life until moving to Lake Como fourteen years ago. She was retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She is survived by her loving companion, Joseph Mickesh of Lake Como, Florida; two daughters, Mary (Vernon) Robbins of Norwalk, Iowa and Karen (Robert) Kinney Jr. of Goldsboro, North Carolina; one brother, William Christian of Indianola, Iowa; two sisters, Maurine Lembke of Des Moines, Marjorie Ivanoff of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren, Scott MacGregor of Des Moines and Kristen Kinney of Goldsboro, NC; one great-grandchild, Jack MacGregor of Des Moines and many loving friends. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 15th at 2 PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
