Vera Campbell

Vera Eloise Campbell, 81, went peacefully to meet her Lord at home in Altoona on January 6, 2009 on her Sixty- Fourth wedding anniversary. She was born on October 5, 1927, in Dexter, MO. to Harve and Nettie Temples. She lived most of her life in Dexter until moving to Altoona in 1982.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
She enjoyed being with friends and family. She faithfully attended the Eastside Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving wife and mother. Her presence and her prayers will be greatly missed by her family until we meet again.
Vera is survived by her husband of sixty- four years. Louie (Heck); a daughter Shelba (Steve) Oberto of Altoona; a son, Larry (Gigi) Campbell of Olathe, KS; Three granddaughters, Dina (Gene) Parker of Altoona, Jessica Campbell of Denver ,CO, and Valerie Campbell of Tulsa, OK ; and three great- grandchildren, Haley, Nathan, and Cade.
Visitation will be at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home on Thursday, January 8, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Eastside Church of the Nazarene, 1451 E. 25th, Street. Des Moines, on Friday, January 9, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. with burial at the Altoona Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Health Home Care Hospice.
