Richard McAninch

Richard M. McAninch, 77, was born March 19, 1931 and passed away peacefully Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Carlisle Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St. Burial will follow at the Norwalk Cemetery where military rites will be performed.
Dick retired in 1991 as a Supervisor with Public Works from the City of Des Moines after 30 years of service. He proudly served his country and was a United States Navy veteran.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Patricia McAninch of Des Moines; his children, Patrick (Deb) McAninch of Murray, Kelly (Lori) McAninch of Indianola and Shannon (Dean) Christmann of Ankeny; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Rex McAninch of Carlisle; sister, Dorothy Hudson of Ankeny and many nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa in loving memory of Dick.
