Ruth Corrigan

Ruth Corrigan, 81, of Des Moines passed away on January 5, 2008. She has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial of the cremains at the Sunny Hill Cemetery in Adair following the service. The family will greet friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. After moving to Des Moines from Casey in 1972 she began working in the cafeteria at Weeks Middle School. She was a member of the Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and enjoyed garage saling, University of Iowa sports and being with her family. She is survived by her son Don Corrigan of Des Moines, daughter Vicki (Denny) Jern of Des Moines, her brother Richard (Gloria) Stephenson of Crestline, California as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Murl, her two brothers Warren and Wayne Stephenson and her two sisters Verona Plew and Mary Ann Ely. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Park Avenue Presbyterian Church.
