Service Details

Services for Ted Privitera, 81, of Waukee, IA formerly of Las Vegas, NV and Elk Grove Village, IL, will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. Burial will be in Hillside, IL on Saturday, January 10 at 1:00 p.m.
Ted was born January 15, 1927 in Hoboken, NJ, the son of Philip and Angelina (Umina) Privitera. He passed away, Sunday, January 4, 2009.
For many years Ted was an Associate of A.T. Kearney & Co. of Chicago and traveled extensively during those years. He retired as President from Privitera & Associates, management consultants, of Barrington, IL. He was an army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He attended Central College in Pella, IA.
Ted enjoyed fishing, stamp collecting, billiards, managing his stock investment portfolio and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He will be missed by his wife of 51 years, Rosemary of Waukee; son, Steven (Dina) of Adel and daughter Diane Rankin of Western Springs, IL; his grandchildren, Paul, Hope and Ali Privitera, Caroline Rankin and Adrianna Northrop. He was preceded in death by his daughter Joyce Carol (James) Northrop.
