Olive Foster

Olive Emma Parker Foster, 96, of Des Moines passed away on December 31, 2008 at the Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines after a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday at the Park Ave. Christian Church with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-8 PM Friday evening at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Olive is survived by her son Leonard (Sue Steele) Reeves of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa; her sister Ruth Parker Roth of Fargo, North Dakota; 3 grandchildren Terry, Patti, and Carole as well a 2 great granddaughters, 3 nephews and 1 niece. Olive was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Foster, her parents G.F. and Jessie Parker and her brothers Dale and Fredrick Parker. She was a member of the Park Ave. Christian Church and the Order of the Easter Star for over 60 years. She was retired from the Iowa Film Exchange where she had worked for 35 years. After retirement she had volunteered for 14 years at the Polk Co. Southside Senior Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Park Ave. Christian Church or the Bright Kavanagh House.
