Fred Drake

Fred Drake, 66, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
Fred was born September 7, 1940 in Winterset, IA to Claude and Essie Drake. He retired from EFCO. Fred loved spending time with his grandchildren playing games.
Fred is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Barbara; children, Melissa Cory of Pleasant Hill, Gary Drake of Des Moines and Teri (Chris) Craig of Des Moines; sisters, Donna Mae, Janis, Marlys and Mary Jo; brother, John; grandchildren, Michele, Michael, Meghan, Melissa, Brandon, Brian, Ashleigh, Ashton and Rachelle and great-grandchild, Nataleigh.
