Service Details

Jack Comstock, 75, died December 22, 2008 at home with his wife and “Joey” at his side. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
Jack was born July 2, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa and was the son of Merle & Helen Comstock. On August 7, 1955 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Lewis, whom he’d known since childhood. Jack’s greatest joy in his life was his family, who meant the world to him. He was a devoted, loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He retired from John Deere, after 35 ½ years as a Tool and Die Maker.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War and belonged to the East Gate Masonic Lodge.
Jack loved to work on projects at home. He was a perfectionist and could fix anything. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Jack is survived by his life long companion, best friend and wife, Phyllis; his children, Michael (Carol) Comstock of Lake Bluff, Illinois; Deborah (Lee) Buster of Ankeny;
Grandson, Michael (Josie) Wright of Ankeny; one great granddaughter, three step granddaughters, Shawna Patchin; Traci (Alvaro) Almaguer all of Ankeny; Erica (Dan) Adams of Polk City; four step great grandson’s; four step great granddaughters; sister, Marcene Watkins and brother, Don (Dorothy) Comstock all of Des Moines, and his buddy, “Joey”. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa.
