Juanita Barker

Juanita D. Barker, 87, went to be with her Lord January 6, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. No services are planned at this time.
Juanita was born December 5, 1919 in Poplar Bluff, MO. She had lived in Des Moines for 50 years. She was employed as a meat trimmer at the meat packing house. Juanita was a member of Bethel AME Church.
Mourning her passing are her daughter, Anita Swanson, her 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; 1 brother and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her son, William A. Ward Jr, and 1 brother.
