Helmer Simonsen, 84, died Saturday, December 20, 2008. He was born October 3, 1924, in Norway, to Helene and Simon Simonsen.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Adelphi Calvary Baptist Church in Runnells, IA, with burial at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells, IA. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008 at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home.
Helmer is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betsy; his sons, Ron (Dee) and Stan (Jill); daughter Irene; and five granddaughters: Stacy, Christine, Amy, Kelsie, and Anna, all of Runnells, IA. Helmer was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Please accept my Condolences for the loss of your father. My wish for you and your family is to understand that he is in loving care and at peace with God. Your father will always be with you in your hearts along with the memories of sad and good times followed with joyous laughter. Hold on to the memories.
May God Always be with You and your family. Everyone at the office sends they're prayers and sympathy your way. Linda especially wanted you to know that she is thinking of you.
