Gantry Richard Miller
March 19, 2019
Gantry Richard Miller (Wolfgang), 44, of West Des Moines, IA passed away on March 19, 2019.
Gant was born in Des Moines, IA on October 19, 1974. He graduated from Valley High school in 1993 and attended the University of Iowa. Gant worked for the family vending company for most of his life until 2015 when a career started to develop from his passion for sports radio and all things Hawkeye.
Gant was a loyal to the core Dad, son, brother, friend and Iowan. He was so very proud of his two children, Shaylee Marie (11) and Jax Gantry (6). Known for his infectious smile and loud laugh, you knew when he entered a room. Gant was quick witted and one of a kind. The best conversations took place over his favorite foods, including Grandma Mary’s chex mix, Dad’s popcorn, Taco Tico water, raw shrimp or sunflower seeds. He was passionate about his family, the Hawkeyes, Clear Lake, sports and picking out the perfect “birthday” cards that had little to do with turning one year older. He hated weak handshakes, waxing the boat at the end of lake season and watching himself in home videos.
Wolfgang spent his last few years with his favorite human being, Tiffany Blazenko, going to a job he loved that was just beginning to take off and spending time with his children and family. If you met Gant once, he made an impression with his larger than life personality. Think of him every time you hear the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Run DMC or a good beat box. Remember every day is an opportunity for “makin’ a memory” and chance to celebrate what you love with a sincere slow clap.
Gant is survived by his children, Shaylee and Jax Miller and their mother, Melissa; his parents, Dick and Lynn Miller; Grandma Helen Dickerson; love and best friend, Tiffany Blazenko and her children, Ellie, Sam and Will; his brother, Chris (Paige) Miller and sister, Megan (Josh) Smith; his nieces, Chloe, Macy, and Sydney Miller and Ellie Smith; his nephews, Colton and Tate Smith; and many other extended family members and friends. Gant was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold Miller, Mike and Mary Versackas, and Lew Dickerson.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation on Tuesday, March 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. and the memorial service on Wednesday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for donation to the University of Iowa. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
The family of Gantry wishes to thank 1700 the Champ for continuing with the show that brought him such joy.

Gant and I were great friends during high school and after. We were even roommates for a while after college. He was the only one who could make me laugh when I wanted to cry. He was my best friend through out my life. I am so sorry for the Miller family, his kids and partner. I can't imagine the kind of sadness that you are going through at this time. I would like all of you to know that Gant was one of kind. He could laugh and have fun with anyone. He always made everyone feel welcome and special. That is a gift unto itself. I will miss his smile and laughter dearly. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at all times.

To the Miller family--
I was one of Grant's English teachers at Valley. I have such fond memories of him as a student--rascally and delighted. He brought light and joy into the room, and he added a sense of playfulness to our lessons. I was so sorry to read of his passing.
